Attending Evening Services at the First Congregational Church downtown. The program is beautiful and the church is as well. Decked out and exactly what I was looking for, for the Holiday celebrations. One of the few Churches in town that are welcoming to everyone.
Blog Archives

Yesterday at work I was laughing with a coworker about seeking out a baby name. It struck me that I haven’t used bibliomancy in a long while. That’s a kind of fortune-telling with a dictionary. You close your eyes, grab a nice big dictionary, open it to a random page, point at a random spot and then look. Yesterday’s word was hoof. LOL. Todays word? Nadir. So there you have it, the lowest point or the point opposite to where the top-most point is, depending. What does it mean? Maybe the meaning will become clear in time. Or not.

Now that I’ve been censored and gagged on Facebook, I thought I would revisit the challenge of creating a page which only featured statuses, the shorter versions of things that I post, informal with looser English than my usual long-form entries. They all should appear under the “Chatter” menu on the main page of my blog. This I suppose will be a test of that feature.
Car Insurance
Aside
Noticed with USPS Informed Delivery that the car insurance was going to be in the mail today. Due on April 11th, leverage credit, pay at the end of the month. I won’t even notice the cost.
I laughed heartily at that.
Perfect

Finally found the perfect recipe for poached eggs for my morning breakfast. An English muffin, toasted. Then a smear of Kerrygold Butter. Then the eggs. I suppose you could call it a firm poach. I have little silicone poaching cups I got for Christmas years ago, a little spritz of nonstick spray. Then put those in ceramic ramekins, put those in the Instant Pot, a cup of tapwater, seal. High pressure for 7 minutes and 7 minutes of NR, then a QR. Put the eggs on the buttered muffin halves and a little scratch of pepper and salt. Perfect. The yolk is just ever so accidentally runny, but right on the edge of being set. Perfect.
Wrong Again Amazon
Aside
So, Amazon shipped my Reuzel Beard Balm and… WRONG AGAIN IN THE SAME WAY. So instead of sending out another tin which is wrong, they want me to ship it back. LOL. Fucking Amazon, man. And this is the dark side of Jeff Bezos’s company. Top notch work you fucking dullards.
New York City Boy
Aside
Tonight’s dreams were sponsored by a blend of La La Land, a free ranging musical where strange behavior and boundless physical endurance meet a totally romanticized New York City where there is traffic where traffic is romantic and piers providing perfect picturesque vistas of the cityscape that obviously do not exist. Complete with the background orchestra that provides the structure for the dancing, running, and singing. And nobody is a fat tubby bitch who runs out of gas in the first ten minutes and can’t get past midtown without an oxygen tank and a blintz. Oy Gevalt.
Puff Datty

What a windy day today has turned out to be! Took care of cleaning the CX-5, then going to the gym, and then with Scott’s help picking up around the house and running the vacuum. Next, laundry going apace. After that a trip to Menards for a fluorescent light bulb and a starter. It’s a F14T12CW. Yay for codes. And I’ll have the bummy starter on me, so that should be a simple thing to replace. Of course, now that I’m looking for anything, it’s all gone. The entire county. Sold out. Never heard of it. Never stocked it.
I know this game. It’s called “Might as well just fucking buy it on God Damned Amazon.”
But I love disappointment. So, that’ll keep my Sunday busy.
That Is Different
Aside
I heard a loud thump outside and I sprang to check the CX-5. Nothing wrong. But then I happened to notice my neighbor with a unique posture. He was between his house and his garbage trundle. Hands down, centered, with the look of bladder relaxation that all men get. And then he shook himself off and got in his car and drove off. His house, he can pee on it if he wants to. I suspect he may not be a family man. LOL.
Captain Marvel
Aside
We went to the fan special release tonight of Captain Marvel. We thought it was standard, but Scott and his eagle eyes caught that it was Real3D. The movie is quite good, standard comic book fare. Fury and Marvel had great chemistry. Annette Benning did a marvelous job in her part, and Goose the Cat damn near stole the show. This one was a four out of five, for me. It was evenly paced and not a lot of shocks or surprises really. Mostly a bunch of “Ah” and “okay…”
